Praetor raising

Terridus stood on the front of the boat that had been provided to him by the navy and he saw the water under the boat switch over to oil. Once seeing that he knew he had arrived in Tenebrae. After the last court session at castle Amber, Terridus had been announced to be the next lord of the shadow of Tenebrae. His father and brother were proud of his new title, being a lord of a shadow within the golden circle was a great honor. However, many in the court saw the appointed much differently.

Tenebrae was seen as a failed shadow, some sort of mistake made when the golden circle came into being. The shadow was cold and lifeless and there wasn't an other member of the family who wanted rulership over the shadow. It had never had a lord appointed to it and many didn't even count it as part of the golden circle. Some of the family of Amber saw Terridus's appointment to the position of lord of Tenebrae as a punishment, an effort to isolate the odd man that Terridus had become over the last few years.

Seen his first walk of the pattern, Terridus had become very strange compared to not only his brother and father, but odd even for amber standards. He was gone for many years and when he returned to Amber, he was seemingly traumatized by his experience and nearly made not functioning in social affairs. When he came back he was wearing a mask and since then, no one had seen his face. After some time, Terridus displayed many great powers and was soon following in his father's foot steps. He became a creditable member of the court of amber and gained renown for his loyalty to the court. Oberion declared him the lord of Tenebrae and Terridus was off to make the shadow his own.

When Terridus arrived in Tennebrae for the first time he meet with the local royal family. The people of Tenebrae were the most technologically advanced in the golden circle and were able to dwell in their airless world because of their breathing apparatus. The people of Tenebrae had come to the shadow from the neighboring shadow of Dormigez, seeking out the mineral rich mountain ranges that Tenebrae was known for. A few mining settlements in time became an independent nation of it's own.

Terridus made arrangements with the royalty of Tenebrae and came to a power sharing agreement with them. He knew that there was much work to be done to make the shadow even more to his taste. Trade agreements with other shadows of the golden circle were worked out and resources and minerals were traded out of the shadow for more food and water in an effort to raise the population of the shadow.

Terridus spent many years designing and building the new capital of his shadow that would come to be named simply 'the core.' The city's design was very different from the other settlements on the shadow. Terridus over saw the construction of the city and then his domain. In the middle of the city, a large steel and glass pyramid was erected in which Terridus held his court, and dwelt.

Once the capital was taken care of Terridus set out to link himself to the shadow. With magic of both sorcery and the pattern, he found himself bounded to the shadow it's self. He flew out over the oil sea to the edge of his shadow, the edge of the golden circle it's self and rose up from the bottom of the ocean an island. On the island was build a lab where Terridus carried out decades of research.

Tenebrae had become Terridus's body, mind and spirit in just a short time.

If someone had told Terridus 100 years ago he'd be sitting on the throne of Amber, he would have laughed.
If someone had told Terridus 50 years ago that his father would be so ok with turning the title over to Renee, he would have argued with them.
If someone had told Terridus anything about the eagle ever, maybe he would be able to help...
